Uganda National Association of the Deaf (UNAD) is a non government and voluntary organization bringing together all categories of Deaf persons in Uganda including those with multiple disabilities like Deaf-Blind persons. Formed in 1973, UNAD was registered as Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in 1989. It is a national umbrella organization for all grass root associations of Deaf persons in Uganda. UNAD is consulted by the government and NGOs on matters concerning Deaf persons and Deafness. UNAD is affiliated to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) which has a consultative status with the UN.
