Most girls in rural communities of Uganda resort to dirty rugs, maize cobs, leaves to manage their periods. Kyobe foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to facilitate a collective impact around menstrual health management and girl child education in under served communities of Uganda. The word KYOBE means "what you wish to become" in Luganda, a regional dialect in Uganda. Here at Kyobe foundation, we believe it is important to support brighter futures for girls through tackling obstacles to ac.hieving their full potential one of which is poor menstrual hygiene management. Our aim is to lift up voices, share progress, ignite collaboration towards tackling menstrual health challenges, girl child education and innovation. Over 15,000 Girls supported with sanitary pads and are able to attend school with dignity and pride daily just like boys do. 2 schools supported with Water tanks to save Girls from walking very long distances searching for water where they also would fall victims of rape along the way. Started girl clubs in 5 primary schools that have since given a platform for Girls to speak about issues affecting their lives. Mentoring Girls to become who they aspire to be. Having 10 girls on our sponsorship program so that they can attend school and be able to achieve their True Potential. Organising events with the purpose of breaking stigma around #Menstruation and supporting the less advantaged girls with sanitary pads.
