To celebrate ten years of blogging, Diary of a Muzungu has a new look! In 2018, I launched a new version of Diary of a Muzungu and an online Travel Directory. This features hotels, lodges, tourism activities, airlines and tour operators, with new listings in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya added daily. My main stories are on my blog www.diaryofamuzungu.com which I launched in 2008. I also write for other websites and magazines. The award-winning Diary of a Muzungu traces the Ugandan life of a British expat living in Kampala (and now on the edge of Kibale Forest National Park). Experience Uganda and East Africa with me: adventure, safari trips to the bush, cultural (mis)observations, birdwatching, occasional cocktails at Kampala’s top hotels, festivals and events, life as an expat in a developing country, cultural tourism experiences, conservation and more... We go off the beaten track: on safari, by boda boda, gorilla tracking and birding walks, on cross-border bus journeys, canopy walks in Nyungwe Forest, aboard the Standard Gauge Railway train to Mombasa, and on we go, exploring everything East Africa has to offer. We travel across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa, Burundi and Ethiopia - so far... All of my stories are based on my personal experiences. Do you have somewhere I haven’t covered yet?
